... an environmental scientist passionate about climate adaptation, sustainability, and engaging communities in meaningful change. Based in St. John’s, NL, I work at the intersection of environmental research, community outreach, nature-based solutions, and spatial mapping using tools like ArcGIS. My academic journey began with a Bachelor’s in Biology from Shahid Beheshti University—one of the top three universities in Iran—where I graduated with a 4.0 GPA.I later pursued graduate studies in Italy and Canada, recently completing my Master of Environmental Science at Memorial University(GPA 3.7/ 4.0).For my final research project, I evaluated the effectiveness of green infrastructure in reducing stormwater runoff in St.John’s, applying GIS- based tools such as ArcGIS Pro and InVEST(GIS - based ecohydrology model).

Over the past few years, I’ve embraced a wide range of roles—from analyzing climate adaptation strategies with econext to managing large environmental datasets with GEMTEC. I’ve also been actively involved in youth-led climate initiatives, environmental policy research, and science communication. As a community canvasser with Neighbours United, I was recognized as the top canvasser in St. John’s, achieving the highest persuasion and movement rates, and collecting over 10% more petition signatures than any other canvasser in support of local climate action. I’m proud to have helped mobilize residents and build momentum for stronger environmental policies at the grassroots level. My work in this role also led to two interviews with CBC, where I spoke about youth involvement in climate action and shared my experiences as a frontline environmental advocate in Newfoundland and Labrador. I was also invited by the Climate Collective to the Green Career Expo, where I hosted a table and spoke directly with high school students about environmental career paths and the power of community-led climate solutions.

Whether I’m presenting at the Blue Box Seminar hosted by the Department of Geography at Memorial University, supporting Nature Canada’s youth grant program and Women for Nature, or reviewing climate action proposals for the equitable distribution of $200,000 with Finance Engage Sustain (FES), I bring my full energy and commitment to every project.

Beyond research and policy, I care deeply about public outreach and climate literacy. As a board member of ClimaFacts Atlantic, I support create accessible, bias-free content to engage Atlantic Canadians in climate conversations. I also serve on the City of St. John’s Youth Engagement Working Group, contributing to the design of programs that encourage young people to participate in sustainability efforts.

Throughout my work, I value clarity, collaboration, purpose, and positivity. I believe that bridging science with community action can make a real difference—and I’m excited to keep growing, learning, and contributing to climate resilience across Canada and beyond.
