i am ahmet savas mumcu ...

... a policy analyst specializing in migration governance, security studies, and policy analysis, with a strong background in diplomatic processes and cross-regional coordination. I am currently pursuing my MA in Political Science at Memorial University of Newfoundland, where my research focuses on migration, security policy, and Canadian politics.
Before moving to Canada, I worked as a Regional Immigration Officer for the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Turkey, conducting immigration eligibility assessments, fraud-prevention interviews, and compliance investigations across Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan. I also served with the International Catholic Migration Commission (ICMC) – Resettlement Support Center for the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) in Turkey and Lebanon, liaising with the U.S. Department of State and contributing to one of the world’s largest refugee resettlement operations.
My core strengths include Governance & Compliance, Policy Analysis, and Security Studies. With strong command of English, Arabic, Farsi, Turkish, and French, I excel in communication across diverse cultural and institutional contexts, particularly in sensitive, high-stakes decision-making environments.
Having carried out cross-regional responsibilities, diplomatic liaision, and field-based operational work through my roles in diplomatic missions and international organizations, I bring a niche, field-informed understanding of migration systems, mobility governance, and international security dynamics. I apply this perspective to support practical, evidence-informed policy development, institutional effectiveness, and well-grounded decision-making.
