i am abdullah al rashed ...
... a passionate Policy Analyst and Community Service Specialist with a strong focus on policy advocacy, public service, and intra-governmental affairs. I hold a Master’s degree in Political Science (Public Policy, Local Government, and Elections) from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Dhaka.
With a deep commitment to community empowerment and institutional improvement, I have led initiatives that center around policy analysis, student advocacy, and community resource development. My leadership roles include serving as President and Treasurer of the Political Science Graduate Students’ Society (PSGSS), Board Member at the Graduate Students’ Union (GSU), and Senate Member at Memorial University, where I advocated for student-centred policy reform and contributed to institutional decision-making.
As a Community Service Specialist with Amal Unite and Empower, I conducted comprehensive needs assessments across Newfoundland and Labrador and developed a detailed Community Resource Guide to enhance access to essential services for newcomers, youth, seniors, and families. My experience also includes academic roles such as Research Assistant and Assistant Graduate Officer at Memorial University’s Department of Political Science, where I supported curriculum development and reviewed public policy research.
I am committed to fostering inclusive policies and ensuring that community services reflect the needs and strengths of diverse populations.
